My name is Scott Dudelson. I am a Los Angeles based entreprenour, and the co-founder of Swagbucks.com - an El Segundo, CA based internet company that allows consumers to earn rewards for their on-line activity. We've been fortunate to have success and after 8 years of funding the company without venture capital, we raised $60 million dollars in capital from leading late stage growth firm Technology Crossover Ventures. In addition to co-founding Swagbucks.com, I am also an active angel investor in a number of funds and companies around Los Angeles and Silicon Valley.
I'm writing you today in regards to Title III of the JOBS Act and to express my support and intention to participate in crowd funding campaigns under the proposed rules once passed. In fact, 8 years ago if this act had been in place, we at Swagbucks would have most certainly pursued this avenue of fundraising. There are dozens of companies, and investors, that I know of at this very moment who would participate. Further, as someone who has their feet and ears to the ground of the entrepreneurial and venture community, this act is something that is fostering great enthusiasm among the crowd. I believe its possible this act can open up a new age of innovation, investment opportunity, and entrepreneurism.
