October 31, 2022 Im writing to express my support for increased transparency around short sales in our markets. Short positions should be required to be reported daily at a minimum, preferably every fifteen minutes like the share lending proposal. Why must a company report a 5% position on the long side, but not on the short side? Why can companies sell short more shares than the entire market cap of a company? Short sales need to be disclosed often, accurately, and with large fines for failure to comply. No slaps on the wrist. Fines need to exceed all profits made so that they stop the bad behavior. Thank you
