I was very excited to hear that the definition of an accredited investor is open for comment. As a current non-accredited but sophisticated investor, I would very much like to see the accredited investor criteria expanded to allow more households to qualify. There are so many solid investment opportunities out there that are only available to those with a high income and/or high net worth. It's so frustrating and unfair that we are not able to build wealth in the same way that those that already have it can. Please revise the requirements so that those that want to take more control of their financial future and are willing to accept the risks and responsibilities of their investment decisions can have these wealth building options available to them too.
