I support the idea of including code along side a prospectus.
If there is to be only one language allowed, then I think it should be R rather than Python. R, like Python, is a free, open-source language. However, R has a much bigger user base than Python. An attempt to quantify the size of the user base is at http://r4stats.com/popularity though an accurate estimate seems too hard to come by. Python is not included on that page, but it would certainly not show the support that R has.
Allowing either R or Python might be a better solution than forcing one choice.
