With the velocity of decline in the stock market in the last few months of 2008 and early 2009, it does seem to this small investor that some measure of restraint needs to be imposed on short selling.
Unregulated short sellers have no pity on stocks or other investors who hold long positions in them.
This is an issue for the SEC to handle, and inaction is totally unacceptable and irresponsible.
