I have been investing for approximately 30 years and 2008 was an horrific year for investors...I am very conservative and my portfolio was down over 50% and in my opinion, the short sellers had alot to do with the Crash and the downward volatility. I think all short selling should be banned or limited in scope...My confidence in the regulatory environment has been diminished and I do hope something is done to prevent the 08 crash from ever happening again..The uptick rule should be reinstituted and short selling should be curtailed.
