-I am an individual investor/trader. My experience is in excess of 40 years. Never in those 40+ years have I experienced market volatility as seen in late 2008 the first 2 months of 2009. My success in the markets has been very good as I have secured a very nice retirement on my own. Corporate retirement plans are largely a thing of past,(except for the highest ranking executes). Well, investing and trading in the stock market has been very good to me. BUT the last several months have been unbelieveable. I think its is directly related to the removal of the uptick rule which served the markets well for over 70 years. Many of us individual investors have suffered losses never seen before in our lives. Restore the uptick rule so that people will return to the markets to allow them to retire some day. Without the stock market there is no way most people will be able to have a decent retirement or create any wealth for themselves. I'm OK but many are not and will become wards of the state. Is that what the Democrats really want??
