I am opposed to any change to the current short sale rules.
The main effect of these rules would be to put the small investor like myself at a severe disadvantage to the "Big Players" who would find a way around these rules at any rate. Most likely by moving the trade overseas and making our markets poorer in the process.
I fail to see the wisdom of protecting badly run companies anyway. They should be punished by the market not protected by regulators.
It is damm difficult to make money in the market as it is for the small investor, please don't make it even harder!
