I am in total favor of the old uptick rule. From what I have read it appears that is the "Proposed Uptick rule". I think the circuit breakers are a joke. I don't see how they would really solve the problems that we have had since the old uptick rule was removed. The old one was in place for so long and worked so well. There was no need to remove it in the first place and someone should just finally admit that it was a mistake to do so. I believe that this recession-depression wouldn't have been near as bad if the uptick rule was still in effect. The stock market lost years and years worth of gains in a matter of months since the uptick rule has disappeared. Reinstate the uptick rule. Bring back honest short selling.
