Dear Ms. Schapiro,
My thought is that unless we can be certain that the uptick rule did not contribute to the current stock market misery, we should reinstate this rule. We had it for so many years, the mechanics of enforcement cannot be that difficult. This is a matter of immediate importance. A stock market that goes down brings the economy down. Millions of people are suffering because the stock market is down so far. The time is now. Right now. Please bring it back.
