I believe we should simply ban all short selling. I cant see any reason why additonal liquidity is required for efficient operations of the market. There was at one time a need for liquidity because people had to mail in their proxies to sell shares or to option shares. This is simply no longer true. A sale or option can now occur in seconds. If no actual sales are occuring then the price should not be allowed to change.

No one should be able to sell (or buy) any shares that I own and have not given approval to sell.
