I don't know of any other business where you can sell something you don't own.
It really annoys me to think that I put my money into a retirement account "for which I can't take losses" and these big investment companies and brokers "borrow" from me and others to short sell stocks that they do not own.
Guess who ends up losing their money?
Just put a stop to short selling. If you don't own it, you can't sell it.
