after looking over all of the comments the only ones i see against the uptick rule, shorting and naked shorting are the ones doing it. makes sense i guess, just try and cut off a theifs supply and watch them cockroaches come out of the woodwork.
BAN naked shorting , reinstate the uptick rule , do your dam job SEC
