I am in favor of any and all measures / tools that expand the immediacy of the investigative power of the SEC to gather any and all information on the players within the market. We lack real transparency and as a result we are bordering on financial ruin. If we can't enforce the rules and punish the bad actors all we are doing is charging an incredibly high cost of admission for criminal abusers to ruin the system. Too many people are rapidly becoming aware of how corrupt and easily corruption spreads throughout our 'fair' markets. The only business professionals that should fear transparency are the ones conducting themselves unprofessionally. It was probably a terrible idea to give corporations the rights of individuals but there is no reason to pretend they are not captained by these same groups of bad actors always willing to parachute out of the buildings they burn down (economic metaphor about criminal board members). If the market is for everyone, then the rules should apply equally to everyone and the bad actors should be removed quickly and effectively.
