Blockchain technology would allow for same day settlement. There is no valid reason to continue under the current market structure with T+2 settlement. Moving to same day settlement would drastically improve security and investor confidence in markets. Same day settlement would also eliminate FTDs (Fails-to-Deliver) and would ensure investors get what they paid for.
