I believe shortening the settlement cycle to T+0 is possible with the technology the world has in place today, and this would help improve price discovery and avoid any conflicts of interest that may arise in a T+2 day settlement between two or more intermediaries during the 2 day grace period given an unforeseeable event occurring. The shortening of settlement period can also help with creating a more modernized market system, since there already is a market system out there that performs on a T+0 structure so it is possible.
