T+1 is a day late and a dollar short. When I buy something at the grocery store, that transaction is complete right then and there. They get my money and I get the groceries. What ancient technology is the stock market using that they can't settle the transaction on the same day, let alone within seconds?
T+X sounds like when you didn't do the assignment so you ask the teacher for an extension.
