We have the technology to shorten settlement cycles and the public is in immediate need of accurate security reconciliation.
This is one of many needed steps to restore trust in the financial markets, brokers, and market makers.
More importantly the public needs these and current regulations enforced immediately.
Given current wall street practices, reporting, minimal regulation and fee based judgements, the financial markets appear to be a house of cards.
I fear for my parents retirement accounts and do not intend to invest in such a heavily controlled, manipulated, and unregulated system with my generations' or my children's endowments.
Please start enforcing rules and prosecuting bad actors.
