March 15, 2023 I am commenting in support of the original proposed rule, NOT the re-proposed rule. I, along with many peers in the general public, cannot understand the purpose of introducing these rules if they are attached to excuses to break them. Organizations with the largest possibility for conflict of interest, should not be given a free pass to break the rules others are made to follow. The re-proposed rule allows bad actors to continue to act in bad faith without punishment. For a well functioning, and most importantly, a trustworthy market, we need accountability from everyone without free passes to those at the top. I hope the original proposition can pass without exceptions, otherwise this will be another empty gesture, or worse, an enablement for bad actors to continue unpunished.
