I believe the proposed changes to the rule allowing exemptions for certain activities hollows out the protections and allows the opportunity for the rule to be avoided.
Conflict of interest should be a top priority for ensuring a market that is fair for household investors that do not have the tools and resources available to them that large market participants and organisations have. By allowing these organisations exemptions to conflict of interest rules you are saying that it is okay to deceive and mislead investors.
