This commenter believes that the definition provided by proposed Rule 1000(a) for a SCI entity is broad enough to capture most of the participants that play important roles in the securities industry. Proposed Rule 1000(a) provides a definition for a SCI entity that will allow the SEC to require most participants to have some form of plan and structure in place to protect their core technological infrastructure from outside forces. The definition of a SCI entity for purposes of proposed Regulation SCI in this commenter’s opinion is very appropriate.
