Subject: RE: Disclosure Effectiveness Review

If public companies are spending consumer and stockholder dollars on political activities, Americans have the right to know what those activities are. Our campaign finance system is broken, and much of the reason is dark money in politics. Corporations should not be able to use backdoor channels such as nonprofits or associations to do their political dirty work. Political spending should be above board and accounted for. Spending should be tracked and made public, so citizens can decide whether to support companies that engage in political spending with our hard-earned dollars.
