I am the General Partner of a small family LP. Our LP is unlikely to meet any thresholds for Federal disclosure, but as I think of the concerns I would have if we ever did qualify, aside from additional costs, my main concern would be the existence of a publicly available list of private investment partnerships. Such a list would provide a one stop target list for sophisticated cybercriminals. in my opinion, anonymity is one of the most reliable defenses available to smaller firms against such threats and I would hope the SEC would be sensitive to that.
