I am one of those average investors that is just trying to shore up some kind of retirement. Im no Harvard business school scholar, or politician. But I work very hard for the income I receive and would like the opportunity to invest in a growing company the way my parents and their parents did. Unfortunately the stock market has become less about a corporations assets and earnings, and more about massive hedge funds and short sellers that are controlling the current value of a companys stock. I believe the uptick rule should be reinstated. I dont believe the average investor like myself stands a chance in todays market if it is not.
