The call for continuous and growing regulation by the government seems to stand in the face of free market capitalism. Whereas, large corporations can afford to have entire departments designated to meet with growing list of governmental requirements, small businesses must force employees to multitask to meet these needs. This gives yet another advantage to companies that can afford to designate time and resources to these requirements. As an investor, it is neither my desire nor concern that we create an environment that drowns out competition and reduces the opportunity for fair markets. I have found that those two things do more to limit corruption, pollution, workplace violence and any other unwanted business practice that the government is trying to regulate.
