Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:

It is time to end secret political spending by corporations.

I strongly urge you at the SEC to issue a ruling in the near future that will require publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their spending on political activities.

Shareholders and the public deserve to know how much a publicly held corporation spends on politics (directly and through intermediaries), and which candidates are being supported or attacked.

Thank you for acting in the interests of the shareholders and the public. Accountability is an important part of a successful democracy; unlimited, undisclosed corporate political spending does  all of us a disservice.

Sincerely,

Linda Steger
