Subject: File No. 4-637

Dear Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:

I believe strongly in transparency in affairs that affect the role of 'the people' in government.  This is not happening with the corporations in elections.  So, it's long past time to end secret political spending by corporations.

So I strongly support the SEC issuing a rule in the near future that would require publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their spending on political activities.

I want be able to to change my consumer habits if I find a company to support a position (through a candidate) with which I disagree. Otherwise, I would think it an intrinsic support of such candidates and values, which I feel makes me a less responsible citizen. We deserve to know how much a given corporation spends on politics (directly and through intermediaries), and which candidates are being promoted or attacked.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,

Arjun Kurup
