SEC

I am deeply concerned about the influence of corporate money on our electoral process.

In particular, I am appalled that, because of the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, publicly traded corporations can spend investors' money in secret.

I am writing to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.

Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site.

This should be made public and in my opinion, it's a way for big corporations or those with money to burn, so to speak, to give the money to the one running for office so that by sponsoring them--they will already have a foot in the door to get pushed through any bill they want.

THIS IS NOT A DEMOCRACY!!! IT IS A DISGRACE TO GEORGE WASHINGTON AND THE REST OF AMERICA!!! HOW DARE THE SUPREME COURT LET THIS HAPPEN--I THOUGHT THEY WERE SUPPOSE TO PROTECT US--WELL I THOUGHT WRONG, IT SEEMS LIKE THEY CAN BE PAID OFF TOO.  THIS IS TOTALLY SICKENING AND OUTRAGEOUS!!!

THE SUPREME COURT BETTER REVERSE THIS RULING IMMEDIATELY.  THE ONE'S WHO WILL FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT FOR OUR COUNTRY WON'T BE ABLE TO GO UP AGAINST BIG CORPORATIONS AND MILLIONAIRES AND WE NEED THE ONES THAT CAN'T BE BOUGHT OFF AND CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT, ANIMALS, WILDLIFE AND EVERYTHING ELSE GOD CREATED FOR THEIR BEAUTY AND OUR ENJOYMENT, NOT FOR BIG CORPORATIONS TO DESTROY IT--THEY DESTROYED ENOUGH--WHEN ARE YOU PEOPLE GOING TO REALIZE THAT--IT HAD BETTER BE IMMEDIATELY!!!

Sincerely,
Nancy J. Yale

Thank you for considering my comment.
