SEC

I am deeply concerned about the influence of corporate money on our electoral process.

In particular, I am appalled that, because of the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, publicly traded corporations can spend investors' money in secret.

I am writing to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.

Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site.

This country cannot hope to see individual election freedom now.  We cannot hold ourselves open to the world and express ourselves as examples of decent, unfettered and expressive of freedom from corporate and wealthy influence because the Supreme Court has just taken that away and thrown decency and honesty in elections to only those that have the largest and deepest pockets.  "We the people" is now the biggest joke in the world and we the people are left wondering if our votes really count anymore.

If nothing happens to chase the black money down by the SEC or the Federal Government to keep this black handed corporate buyout of our country .... then we are lost as an example of freedom and voting rights !  Please, take these people to task and secure the chase of these diabolical dark monied giants so that we have our country back to the people and not only those that are the wealthiest.

Thank you for considering my comment.

Sincerely,
