I am puzzled and deeply concerned by the Securities and Exchange Commission's decision to drop the rule requiring publicly traded corporations to disclose their political spending. 

Shareholders deserve to know how every dollar of a public corporation is being spent. 

Surely full disclosure of financial data is in the best interest of shareholders and the public at large, not to mention the future of our democracy.
