Subject: Comment on File Number 4-637

I am writing to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending – and to do so this year.

I am a retired Certified Financial Planner, retiring 9 years ago after 39 years with a major brokerage firm. I am a stockholder in a number of corporations. Based on my experience and empirical observation, both investors have every right to know how the companies whose stock they own are spending our money. Voters and customers absolutely should know what companies are doing. Why should I vote for, or buy from any business that is corrupting politicians to act not in my best interest.
