Dear members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
I think we have a RIGHT to know what these corporations are doing! I figure they have obscene amounts of money for politicians to do THEIR BIDDING! This IS AMERICA, supposedly a nation created BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE, what happened to that IDEAL???? Since we don't have the money OR the power to buy politicians, then the horrendous mistake made by the Supreme Court HAS to be rectified. If there is NOTHING to hide, then why can't they divulge what that money is doing?????
I am writing to urge the SEC to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.
Both shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site.
Thank you for considering my comment.
