I am writing to urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending.
I hold stocks in many companies, but I try not to invest in companies that I feel are involved in immoral activities and have divested at a loss in many cases to hold to this principle. I would consider any contribution to a Republican or conservative organization as immoral and unacceptable to my Christian beliefs. If as a shareholder the corporations are allowed to hide this information from me, then I cannot determine whether they are in good moral standing and entitled to consideration for investment.
Thank you for considering my comment.
