As a private individual, my own political donations are a matter of public record. I cannot imagine any justification for a rule under which corporations could make their donations in secrecy.
Furthermore, as an investor I am entitled to know how corporations in which I invest spend their money, particularly when the expenditures are not in the ordinary course of business.
I therefore urge the SEC to adopt the sensible rule that corporations must disclose their political contributions.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Thomas Hemnes
