The Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission unleashed a monster that threatens our democracy. Allowing corporations to spend their shareholders' funds on political spending distorts both our political and our economic systems. To allow them to do it in secret is even worse.
I urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to promptly issue a rule requiring publicly traded corporations to publicly disclose all their political spending and such disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site.
Thank you for considering my comment.
