Securities and Exchange Commission
Dear Commission,
Dear Sister or Brother with the SEC-
I am very concerned about the ability of corporations to influence
public opinion and debate by spending with which you or I alone cannot
compete. I understand that many large "PACs" receive
unlimited corporate donations but do not have to disclose these
receipts. Concerned citizens are, thus, unable to track the impact
that these corporate entities have on public policy. You and I are
unable to discover who is funding the PAC-delivered attack ads that
abound in the media daily.
Please, as many United States senators ask, use your regulatory
authority to require that corporations disclose their spending in
elections.
Please, act now to use your regulatory authority to require public
disclosure of corporate political contributions.
Thank you for the work you do. My best to you.
Sincerely,
Walt Kemnitz, Jr.
