Securities and Exchange Comm.
Dear Securities and Exchange Comm.,
I’m an investor and a voter. As an investor, I'm appalled that corporations in which I own stock are allowed to divert money from legitimate business activity and funnel it into political campaigns without my knowledge or consent. As a voter, I'm sickened by the distortion of our electoral process that unlimited campaign spending by corporations represents. Perhaps we cannot overturn Citizens United. But we can address both these problems by requiring corporations to state clearly, for all to know, exactly which candidates and political propositions they are supporting with money that rightfully belongs to investors.
Sincerely,
Matthew Gollub
