TO : Members of the Securities and Exchange Commission:
I am writing to urge the SEC to issue a rule requiring all publicly traded corporations to disclose their political spending, including contributions to individual politicians, political parties, and special interest political organizations.
As a holder of stocks and bonds issued by U.S. corporations, I am concerned that both my fellow shareholders and the public must be fully informed as to how much the corporation spends on politics and which candidates are being promoted or attacked. Disclosures should be posted promptly on the SEC's web site, and should be listed on the corporation's K-10 forms and in all annual reports and other public documents.
Thank you for considering my comment.
Sincerely,
Thomas Padgett
