I have been investing for over 35 years and have never seen such wide based illegal activity in shorting and naked shorting. I feel just as the positions are reported for holding shares so should those be reported when a big short position is held and who it is shorting. You, the SEC, should take a more active role in policing not only the large cap stocks but also the small cap stocks as well
I might add there are many times I have watched what I believe to be the market makersmove a stock up or down to profit in short term trades. Included in this is the opening of a stork much higher than it closed with it closing lower than the previous days close. They can legally sell short at the higher price then bring it back down over a days trading to profit greatly from this manipulation.
