Individual investors are being duped by investment advisors in the promotion of investing in Master Limited Partnerships in the natural gas pipeline industry. Average investors are lead to believe that distributions are the same as an investment yield, whereas in reality the largest part of most distributions is a return OF capital rather than a return ON capital.
