Ladies and Gentlemen:
The SEC can not only underwrite, but validate, proper investor education, which can help people avoid Ponzi schemes, lack of true diversification, and so many other pitfalls.
Help people protect themselves; they can't be protected by regulatory action alone, which cannot explore every investment offered.
People are deluged with ads. By comparison, the amount of disinterested information is very small.
I have written on derivatives and alternative investments myself, and understand how difficult it is to compete with the huge commercial information flow of advertisements.
Greenwich Roundtable's best practices series on due diligence and on asset allocation is an outstanding effort at gathering together highly sophisticated investors of large amounts of capital, to make their methods and insights known and available to everyone. Their efforts should be supported, publicized, and encouraged!
Sincerely,
George Crawford
