- Investment banks should not be called "banks". Instead they should be called Brokerage houses, with Investment Banking units or divisions.
- A stock broker should be called a salesman (not a broker), because he is not brokering anything. All he is place a trade electronically through the exchanges for one's account.
- Investment adviser should be called "Investment consultant", because most people believe that the investment adviser is working for them, when in fact all he is doing trying to steer the investor's funds to the products he is soliciting.
- Dealers should be called "traders" because all they do is manipulate customer trades to favor their book of business
