I had to laugh when I read most of the comments on this website page, were brokers and financial advisors.
Nothing from consumers. Is the public aware of this input for comments?
After what I thought I did my "homework" on the making the right decision on a Financial advisor, turned out to be a nightmare.Who do I blame? Partly myself,my advisor, the Hines REITS Company and just maybe you, the SEC. After requesting redemption of all my shares, ($15,000 invested)it was denied. The last sentence in the denial letter was, "There can be no assurance that our share redemption program will be reopened."
This Financial advisor couldn't say enough good things about this REITS company, and the REITS program, when we invested.
I don't recall him verbally telling my husband and I the risks involved, or fees charged. Bottomline "best interests" in my opinion is not for the well being of a Senior client due to retire soon. There are thousands of Baby Boomers with frozen REITS accounts.
