As a former equity portfolio manager at a hedge fund, and current investor, I would like to express my strong support for the approval of IEX as an exchange. I believe it is of paramount importance that competition is encouraged and increased among financial exchanges in order to best protect investor interests. IEX has the potential to offer a significantly differentiated value proposition for non-automated or high frequency traders/investors. My conversations with many other investors and buy side professionals confirms great support for and interest in having another exchange available, particularly one that has made it their mission to create a fairer playing field for investors.
