Re: Investors Exchange LLC – Granting Extension for Form 1 Application for
Registration as a National Securities Exchange Pursuant to Section 6 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934
Dear Mr. Fields:
I urge the Securities and Exchange Commission to grant Investors Exchange LLC Application for Registration as a National Securities Exchange and become a fully licensed U.S. securities exchange.
This is an opportunity for the SEC to make a statement about the protection of long term investors over short term professional intermediaries.
The introduction and proliferation of high speed or high frequency trading (HFT) has created an uneven playing field for the average investor.
High frequency traders seek to profit without risk by capturing opportunities created by speed latency between exchanges.
By approving the IEX exchange application, the majority of investors, who are not seeking risk free trading through latency arbitrage, will have access to an exchange that seeks to create a level playing field for all investors.
Investors Exchange LLC offers investors an opportunity to avoid dealing with high frequency traders who make profits from investors through the use of latency arbitrage.
Sincerely,
Carol Carper
