I strongly support the application of IEX to become an Exchange with a Protected Quotation.
I am an ordinary long term investor and I want the protection IEX can provide against short term professional intermediaries.
I read Michael Lewis's book Flash Boys and I applaud IEX for its accomplishment in trying to create a market that is fair.
I will use the IEX router to eliminate the possibility of having my orders impacted by certain types of speed- enabled trading strategies, aka latency arbitrage.
I can tell you that many people I speak with no longer trust the Securities Markets nor believe that Government Institutions will stand up to the Monied Forces on Wall Street.
