I am writing to support IEX's application to become a national securities exchange and to ask that the SEC approve this application.
IEX's application is an opportunity for the SEC to demonstrate protection for long term investors over the interests of short term professional intermediaries.
The market will be seen as fairer and more transparent when investors are given access to an Exchange with a protected quotation.
As an investor, I wish to route deals through the IEX to eliminate the possibility of having my orders impacted by certain types of speed-enabled trading strategies practised by firms with the resources and self-interest to employ latency arbitrage.
