As an independent investor, concerned with low costs and fair and efficient trades. I would like to see the SEC approve the exchange application for IEX. I believe this is an opportunity for the SEC to make a statement about protection of long term investors over short term professional intermediaries.
As I periodically place limit or market orders for my account and those of family members I believe its good for the SEC to approve IEXs application to become an Exchange with a protected quotation.
I believe it could be very beneficial for me and my family to use the IEX router to eliminate the possibility of having our orders impacted by certain types of speed-enabled trading strategies (aka latency arbitrage)
