SEC, Consumer Protection Agencies Team Up to Fight Fraud

The Securities and Exchange Commission and the United States Postal Inspection Service are highlighting the fight against consumer fraud during National Consumer Protection Week. The two agencies will be joined for a press conference March 7 by the BBB of Metropolitan New York, the Federal Trade Commission, the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, the New York Attorney General’s Office, the New York Department of State, the New York State Department of Financial Services and AARP New York.

Lourdes Caballas, Assistant Director in the Office of Clearance and Settlement in the SEC's New York Regional Office, will speak about investment scams and what consumers can do to protect themselves.
