RESTRUCTURING AND OTHER During the three months ended October 2, 2022, Teradyne recorded $1.2 million of severance charges primarily in Industrial Automation and $0.7 million for an increase in legal liabilities. During the three months ended October 3, 2021, Teradyne recorded $0.6 million of severance charges primarily in Industrial Automation. During the nine months ended October 2, 2022, Teradyne recorded a charge of $14.7 million related to the arbitration claim filed against Teradyne and AutoGuide related to an earn-out dispute, which was settled on March 25, 2022 for $26.7 million, a charge of $2.7 million for an increase in environmental and legal liabilities, and $2.1 million of severance charges primarily in Industrial Automation. Previously, in the three months ended December 31, 2021, Teradyne recorded a charge of $12.0 million related to this earn-out dispute. During the nine months ended October 3, 2021, Teradyne recorded a gain of $7.2 million for the decrease in the fair value of the AutoGuide contingent consideration liability, partially offset by a charge of $1.7 million for an increase in environmental and legal liabilities, and $1.2 million of severance charges primarily in Industrial Automation.
